Pre-Raphaelites



Pre-Raphaelites - the direction in English poetry and painting in the second half of the XIX century, formed in the early 1850s with the goal of fighting against the conventions of the Victorian era, academic traditions and blind imitation of classical patterns.

The name "Pre-Raphaelites" was meant to denote a spiritual kinship with Florentine artists of the early Renaissance, that is, artists "before Raphael" and Michelangelo: Perugino, Fra Angelico, Giovanni Bellini. The most promi Ivan Clarke art
